TIRANA, May 21 /ATA/ – Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi on Thursday received a visiting delegation from the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress, led by Li Hongzhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee.
Talks focused on the longstanding friendly relations between Albania and China and on strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The two sides underlined the importance of expanding economic, trade, educational, cultural and youth exchanges, as well as broadening cooperation in the tourism sector.
Vice Chairperson Li Hongzhong praised the longstanding friendship between the two countries and noted the presence of Albanian culture in China, while expressing Beijing’s readiness to further deepen ties and cooperation with Albania in areas of shared interest.
Discussions also focused on intensifying parliamentary cooperation between Albania’s parliament and China’s National People’s Congress through exchanges of experience and stronger institutional dialogue.
The meeting further highlighted the importance of joint contributions to preserving peace, security and stability in support of regional and international cooperation and development.
