Berisha to majority: EU integration report misleading

TIRANA, May 14 /ATA/ The DP chairman Sali Berisha stated on Thursday in the Assembly that the ruling majority’s report on European Union integration “from beginning to end is misleading and wholly deceptive.”

He described the report as “an exceptionally serious act at a crucial moment for the Albanian people and for Albania.”

Berisha further stated that the report presented to the Assembly was not read publicly, asserting that this was intended to prevent citizens from understanding its true content. He added that the document contains nothing but “bureaucracy and fabrications.”

“You present a report to Parliament but refuse to read it and block it from being made public, keeping citizens in the dark about your lies.”

“This is an entirely unserious act. I therefore call for the immediate withdrawal of the report. From beginning to end, the document consists solely of deception and bureaucracy. It merely lists government decisions and related items in succession,” Berisha stated.

Berisha called for the report to be read in full in the Assembly prior to any debate or vote on the resolution.

“The report cannot be adopted in its current form. It must first be read in full, after which discussions should take place, followed by a vote on the resolution. The agenda is being set at your discretion. How can a debate be focused on a report when citizens are unaware of its content?” he stated.

“Why are you withholding the report from citizens? Because it is filled with falsehoods. Dear citizens, it is entirely full of deception. They do not dare to stand by the report. How can you, Mr Speaker, speak about integration based on an entire report when citizens are kept in the dark about its contents?” he said.
