PM Rama: Integration law package passed without any support from opposition

TIRANA, May 10/ATA/ Addressing the Elbasan Socialist Party Assembly, leader Edi Rama highlighted that the opposition has failed to support any of the crucial EU integration laws. He urged the Socialist Party to embrace the heavy responsibility of driving Albania’s European integration process forward.

“Integration is our top priority because we owe it to the people who supported us. Our goal is to make the EU passport a reality for every Albanian, and to achieve that, we need strength and unity,” said Rama.

“We closed January having passed 27 key pieces of legislation designed to align with EU standards. Notably, seven of these passed with 84 votes. This supermajority was critical; had we only held 75 votes, the violent obstruction from the opposition would have stalled our progress completely”, said Rama.

“Those votes were never just about securing seats; they were about securing the strength needed in Parliament to negotiate effectively. We owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who made this possible”, added Rama. /a.f/p.s./
