TIRANA, May 1 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama described the European Union as a “blessing” for Albania, highlighting its role in strengthening and building state institutions and called for an acceleration of the bloc’s enlargement toward the Western Balkans.
According to the Media and Information Agency (MIA) on Friday, Rama made the remarks during a discussion in Berlin with former Italian ambassador to Albania Fabrizio Bucci, reflecting on Albania’s transformation journey and its relationship with the European Union, “between art and politics.”
Describing the EU as a “blessing” for institutional development, Rama underlined that despite the complexity of the process, tangible results on the ground are already visible.
The discussion also addressed the European Union’s evolving approach toward the region. Rama stressed the need for the bloc to accelerate the integration process for Western Balkan countries.
“During the meeting, the changing approach of the EU and the need for faster progress in the integration of the Balkans were also discussed,” MIA said.
