Korça hosts third edition of Greek-Albanian Friendship Festival

TIRANA, May 1 /ATA/ – The southeastern city of Korça hosted the third edition of the Greek-Albanian Friendship Festival, bringing together artists and choirs from Albania and Greece in a celebration of cultural exchange and artistic cooperation.

Held at the Andon Zako Çajupi Theatre, the festival highlighted the longstanding ties between the two neighboring countries, with art serving as a universal language of communication and understanding.

Korça Mayor Sotiraq Filo shared moments from the event on social media, describing the evening as a special atmosphere shaped by music, song, and artistic performances that conveyed messages of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect between the two peoples.

The program featured performances from both Albanian and Greek choral repertoires, including traditional songs and well-known folk melodies from the two countries. Participating choirs presented a diverse repertoire combining folkloric themes with cultivated musical works, creating what organizers described as an artistic bridge between Albania and Greece.

Young performers also played an active role in the festival, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the stage. Music teacher Tita Terzi appeared alongside her choir, performing two pieces selected specifically for the event. Participating students described the experience as an opportunity not only to showcase their talent, but also to engage more closely with Greek culture and language.

The third edition of the Greek-Albanian Friendship Festival once again underscored the role of art as a bridge between peoples, promoting cultural dialogue and strengthening cooperation between communities.
