TIRANA, April 23/ATA/ During his speech in the Assembly, Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha said today that the Parliament is putting politics before people, bypassing the daily struggles of Albanians.
According to him, the most pressing issues for Albanians today are the high cost of oil and European integration.
Berisha stated that the government has brought the EU integration process to a standstill.
Berisha stated that the integration process is stalled, pending the removal of former Minister Belinda Balluku’s immunity. He further noted that the National Agency of Information Society file has gone international, attracting the attention of European partners.
With fuel costs turning into a concern for citizens, Berisha urged the government to look at North Macedonia’s model—lower taxes for all, and cheaper fuel for farmers. The current 150-lek price difference highlights a deliberate policy that the Parliament must reverse to stop the extortion of the Albanian economy
Regarding fuel prices, Berisha said that in Albania, compared to the countries of the region, oil is sold more expensively.
“North Macedonia’s fuel price of 150 lekë is maintained by reduced VAT and anti-crisis measures, while farmers there receive specialized, cheaper prices”, Berisha said. /m.q/j.p/p.s./
