TIRANA, April 17 /ATA/ At Kodra e Pusit, near the village of Murrizë in Lushnjë, archaeologists are gradually unearthing the structural remains of a substantial edifice.
As the excavations continue unabated, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, has reported that the evidence unearthed to date indicates that the site was occupied during the Late Antiquity period, yielding significant data on its economic and social organization.
The material culture uncovered to date is thought to belong to a chronological range extending from the Roman period through Late Antiquity.
Excavations, carried out under the supervision of specialists from the National Institute of Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, will continue to investigate the architectural function of the structure and to contextualise its role within the broader cultural landscape.
