Economy Minister: Unified employment portal to boost transparency

TIRANA, April 7 /ATA/ – Albania has launched a unified employment portal aimed at centralising job listings and increasing transparency in the labour market, Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj said on Tuesday.

The platform, presented during an event attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption Adea Pirdeni, is designed to bring together employment services across the public sector while improving efficiency and access to information.

Ibrahimaj said Albania’s economy has shown stability and sustained growth in recent years, creating more favourable conditions for labour market development.

“Economic growth underpins all subsequent developments. It has been reflected across sectors, increasing business revenues and creating more employment opportunities for citizens,” she said.

She added that an increase in the number of businesses, turnover and both domestic and foreign investment has contributed to lower unemployment and higher employment, translating into rising wages and household incomes.

Against this backdrop, Ibrahimaj stressed the need for a more structured and accessible labour market. The unified employment portal will serve as a single point of information for job vacancies in both the public and private sectors.

The platform enables the publication of all vacancies within a single system, including positions in the public administration, independent institutions and state-owned enterprises.

“Our goal is to standardise recruitment procedures and enhance transparency. All public administration institutions are now required to publish job vacancies on this portal, giving every citizen access to complete and real-time information,” she said.

The portal has been operational for three months, with mandatory publication of vacancies in place for the past two months. So far, around 80 institutions have posted more than 1,500 vacancies, covering both civil service and other public sector roles.
