Rama: Recycling as a sustainable development model with economic impact

TIRANA, April 6 /ATA/ “Circulate and Create” is the guiding vision behind recycling enterprises, promoting a sustainable model of development. One example is Edi Pack, a company based in Durrës, which embodies the principles of the circular economy. It operates a closed cycle that begins with the production of paper and cardboard, continues with their recycling, and ends with their return to use — ensuring resources are kept in circulation rather than wasted.

Prime Minister Edi Rama today highlighted the model of the recycling company Edi Pack, which he said contributes to reducing waste and raising recycling rates.

The company’s founder, Bardhyl Baltëza, explained that Edi Pack has a 30-year history and operates on a site of around 28,000 square metres. It collaborates with nearly 400 clients, positioning itself as one of the country’s leading examples of the circular economy.

The company operates with around 184 employees and uses cutting- edge European machinery, certified for quality by the relevant institutions.

According to founder Bardhyl Baltëza, Edi Pack produces a wide range of cardboard and packaging materials, including food-grade cartons equipped with ISO certification.

Baltëza underlined that commitment to the environment is essential, since the world we preserve today is the legacy we leave to future generations.

With its 184 employees, Edi Pack demonstrates that the recycling sector is not only a solution for environmental protection but also a stable source of employment, delivering positive impact on the local economy.
