TIRANA, April 6 /ATA/ Drilon Natural Park, just 6 km from Pogradec, is among the most beautiful tourist attractions in our country. Thanks to recent investments, this park has been transformed into a new eco-tourism hub not only for Pogradec but also for Korça.
Infrastructure investments include the construction of around 4,000 meters of pedestrian pathways, while the park’s area has been expanded, further highlighting the tourism potential of this zone.
Prime Minister Edi Rama today shared images capturing the tranquil beauty of Drilon in Pogradec. Drilon is a karstic spring consisting of three watercourses that flow into the southeastern shore of the lake. The main stream forms a large aquatic basin, offering opportunities for walking, boating, and appreciating the rich diversity of flora and fauna.
The newly constructed pathways connect the entire area, stretching from the Drilon springs in the village of Gurras to the promenade along Lake Ohrid. The presence of hornbeam, plane, poplar, weeping willow, and reed trees enhances the freshness and purity of the air. Meanwhile, swans and other bird species inhabiting this natural park add vitality to the scenic landscapes.
The area encompassing the Tushemisht promenade and Drilon Park has been expanded to 150 hectares, fully dedicated to tourism. The development features 13 newly constructed bridges, pedestrian walkways, cycling lanes, the planting of 8,000 trees, and five kilometers of navigable waterways suitable for boating.
