TIRANA, April 1 /ATA/ The Inspector General, Dashnor Sula, concluded on Wednesday a series of meetings with subordinate inspectorates, delivering final messages and outlining the next steps for implementing the Inspection Reform.
The meeting, attended by AKB, AKM, DSHPA, AKVMB, AKAP, AKSEM, ISHTI, and AKZM, marked the conclusion of a retreat organized to coordinate and harmonize inspection processes.
In his opening remarks, Sula acknowledged the contributions of the participating institutions and emphasized the importance of unifying inspection practices, standardizing control processes, and ensuring traceability of actions to guarantee equal treatment and clear procedures for both citizens and businesses.
“Strengthening standards and protecting consumers are essential for meeting EU obligations. Reforming the inspection system is key to developing competent human resources and enhancing the enforcement of standards nationwide. When the system functions properly, it boosts public confidence in institutions, ensures safety, and safeguards citizens’ rights. Conversely, non-compliance with standards undermines trust, encourages informal practices and abuse, and harms the public interest. This responsibility lies squarely with us as the inspection body,” Sula stated.
The roundtable focused on outlining the main priorities for the next phase, which include standardizing inspection procedures, aligning inspection schedules according to risk, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and implementing mechanisms for regular monitoring and reporting.
The discussion emphasized digitalizing inspection processes to boost transparency, traceability, and efficiency. The meeting confirmed next steps for the Inspection Reform, including coordinated planning, standardizing practices, improving information sharing, and enhancing public service, with a commitment to deliver tangible results for citizens and businesses nationwide.
