Foreign Minister meets EU Ambassador, highlights strengthening Albania-EU ties

TIRANA, March 7 /ATA/ – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met with the European Union’s ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, to discuss Albania-EU relations and preparations for his upcoming visit to Brussels.

In a social media post on Saturday, Hoxha said the meeting focused on recent developments in Albania’s increasingly close partnership with the European Union and on his first official visit abroad since taking office.

“When it comes to European affairs and cooperation with our European partners, there are no weekends – only working days,” Hoxha said, adding that the meeting was an opportunity to review progress in bilateral cooperation.

“You don’t have to guess the destination. For Albania, all roads lead to Brussels and the European Union,” he added.

Hoxha recently assumed the post of foreign minister following government changes announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
