TIRANA, February 28 /ATA/ Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha held a conversation with citizens today through social networks, where he focused on the protests and the political situation in the country.
Berisha emphasized that the opposition is routing the regime and that the protests have had a great echo, both in Albania and worldwide.
“There has been a more positive echo than all the protests we have ever organized. We defended the dignity of our country and nation, showing that the opposition is standing against this regime,” he said.
He accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of trying to create a “legal shield” for himself and his associates, after what he called the failed coup through the Constitutional Court.
Berisha also commented on the government reshuffle, describing it as an act that, according to him, confirmed Belinda Balluku’s dominance within the government.
However, he praised the role of the protesters and citizens.
“Without your peaceful revolt, these things would not have happened. The war has not been won yet; it is won through our lasting, popular movement,” Berisha said, adding that Albanians are today more ready than ever to separate the country from this regime. /gj.m/a f/p.s./
