PRISHTINA, Feb 20 /ATA/ – Kosovo’s parliament approved the 2026 state budget on Friday, endorsing what the government described as a temporary and emergency spending plan worth around 4 billion euros.
The budget was backed by 62 lawmakers, while 36 opposition deputies voted against.
Government officials said the 2026 budget would be subject to revision in the coming months.
During the parliamentary session, no opposition amendments with financial implications were approved. Lawmakers did, however, back two amendments providing for the inclusion of budget allocations for the municipalities of Pristina and Shtime.
Opposition parties criticised the draft during debate, arguing it lacked sufficient support measures, but the ruling majority defended it as necessary to ensure institutional continuity and fiscal stability.
