TIRANA Feb 19 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Thursday that Albania has confirmed it will commit troops for the international security force tasked with addressing the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington, PM Rama praised the decisive role of U.S. President Donald Trump in ending the conflict in Gaza.
“Albania has confirmed its participation in the Gaza stabilization force with our troops. I propose that this board invite all countries to contribute directly to building infrastructure and facilities for the children of Gaza, who are the most innocent victims of the lunacy of Hamas,” Rama said.
The government head added that “Albania has the privilege to be on this path.”
“Thank you for including Albania in this extraordinary initiative. We hope to add value to your extraordinary vision,” Rama told the U.S. president.
The inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace was held at the Donald J. Trump U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., under Trump’s leadership, with the participation of leaders from several countries.
The newly established body aims to coordinate international efforts to address security and reconstruction challenges in the Gaza Strip.
