Albanian commando battalion takes part in KFOR exercise in Germany

TIRANA, Feb 18 /ATA/ – Personnel from Albania’s Commando Battalion are taking part in the KFOR 36 Mission Rehearsal Exercise (MRE), a pre-deployment training event conducted at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) in Hohenfels, Germany, designed to prepare multinational forces for their upcoming mission in Kosovo.

Defence Minister Pirro Vengu on Wednesday praised the professionalism, discipline and readiness of Albanian troops, underscoring the Armed Forces’ commitment to fulfilling obligations within the NATO alliance.

“Good morning from Hohenfels, Germany, where members of the Commando Battalion are on the ground in the KFOR ’36 pre-deployment exercise. Professionalism, discipline and readiness where it matters most. We are NATO – in personnel, in training, in defence of collective security,” Vengu said in a statement.

The exercise aims to enhance interoperability and operational readiness ahead of deployment to the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission, ensuring troops meet alliance standards.

Albania’s participation in the drill reaffirms its commitment to regional security and stability, as well as its active contribution to NATO-led international operations.
