TIRANA, Feb 15 /ATA/ The Qafë Thore–Theth road is fully blocked following avalanches near the panoramic tunnels.
Shkodra Prefect Holta Duda warned that the area remains highly dangerous for travel due to avalanche risk.
According to Prefect Holta Duda, for safety reasons, traffic will remain closed to all vehicles, including snow-clearing machines.
“Based on a risk assessment and consultations with the engineers from the road maintenance contractor and the Road Authority, on the Qafë Thore–Theth road segment, due to the avalanche risk caused by worsening weather conditions, vehicle traffic will not be permitted as the danger is high,” the statement said.
Duda urged drivers to strictly adhere to traffic signage, avoid this route, and follow official updates for further information.
Meanwhile, the Road Police announced that this road segment will remain closed until further notice.
