It is reprehensible to exploit former KLA leaders, Berisha says

TIRANA, Feb 12 /ATA/- The Democratic Party chairman Sali Berisha on Thursday responded to remarks by Socialist Party parliamentary group head Taulant Balla, who during the plenary session urged parliament to adopt a declaration rejecting the mudslinging against the Kosovo Liberation Army’s war at The Hague.

“Asked by reporters whether he would endorse the declaration, Berisha said that the act of using former commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army and Kosovo’s political leaders is nothing but a reprehensible act. ‘I have already stated my views on that judicial process, but once again this act demonstrates how low they have stooped and the lengths to which they are prepared to go to deflect scrutiny from their thefts,’ he added.

Berisha added that if the initiative had been genuine, it would have been proposed at the time when opposition lawmakers were advocating for removal of Balluku’s parliamentary mandate. He argued that the request was made solely as a tactic to divert attention from the mandate issue.
