U.S. Embassy cites Rubio: Antisemitism has no place in this world

TIRANA, Jan 27 /ATA/ On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the U.S. Embassy highlighted that the United States remains committed to confronting antisemitism and the distortion of the Holocaust.
On this day of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust, the U.S. Embassy honors the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and reaffirms the shared responsibility to remember the past and work toward a future free of violence and hatred.
In the statement, the embassy emphasizes a quote from Secretary Rubio, who stated, ‘Antisemitism has no place in this world.'”
“On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and reaffirm our shared responsibility to remember the past and work toward a future free from violence and hatred.
As Secretary Rubio has said, “Antisemitism has no place in this world.” The United States remains committed to confronting antisemitism and Holocaust distortion. We recognize Albania’s unique history as one of the few Nazi-occupied countries where Jews found refuge, thanks to the courage of ordinary Albanians. We welcome Albania’s continued partnership in combating antisemitism, such as its endorsement last year of the Best Practices for the Washington Conference Principles on Nazi-Confiscated Art, which promote justice and restitution for Holocaust-era cultural property.

In 2005, the United Nations General Assembly designated January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
This international day serves as a global reminder of the perils of hatred, fanaticism, and antisemitism. It is a call to remember, reflect, and take concrete actions to ensure that such atrocities are never repeated. The day is observed with commemorative events and activities at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, as well as at UN offices worldwide.
