TIRANA, April 27 /ATA/ Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, today presented to the Parliament the draft law for the ratification of Decision No. 6 of the CEFTA’s sixth committee, which seeks to simplify the trade of tourism services offered by Albanian travel agencies and tour operators.
Minister Ibrahimaj stated that, with the adoption of this decision, Albanian travel agencies and tour operators will be able to offer their services in CEFTA member states, removing the requirement for additional authorizations or the establishment of offices in each new territory. This will create a predictable and unified regulatory framework across the region, streamlining procedures and enhancing the competitiveness of Albanian businesses.
Minister Ibrahimaj highlighted that Albania has recorded a trade surplus in the services sector, with tourism being a key component. The adoption of the decision will directly benefit travel agencies by expanding their market, simplifying administrative procedures, and offering opportunities to attract new clients in the region.
Ibrahimaj emphasized that the approval of the draft law is part of Albania’s efforts to prepare for the single European market and to harmonize the tourism business sector with regional standards for service trade.
