TIRANA, January 14/ATA/ During her visit to the Community Center in the Municipality of Divjaka, Minister of Health and Social Protection Evis Sala emphasized the significance of providing social services as close as possible to the community.
“It is a very good cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and international partners, in partnership with municipalities, which enables the provision of social services and support closer to the community, where the need is, where the people are”, said Minister Sala.
The minister also stated that the expansion of the social services map will continue this year, with a focus on covering the needs missing in the territory for the most vulnerable groups.
The new Community Center in Divjaka offers specialized rehabilitation and development services for children with disabilities aged 3 to 18, as well as social care for elderly women and other groups in need. These services are provided by a multidisciplinary team composed of psychologists, social workers, speech therapists and physiotherapists.
This center has been established within the framework of phase II of the Joint United Nations Programme “Leaving No One Behind” (LNB), which is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF and UN Women, in close cooperation with the Albanian Government. /m.m/j.p/p.s./
