TIRANA, Jan 7 /ATA/ Severe weather with heavy rainfall over the past two days has caused flooding in several regions of the country.
Prime Minister Edi Rama today shared images from Shkozet, showing problems caused by the accumulation of plastic waste, which has led to flooding in the surrounding areas.
“Of course, when we dispose of waste and plastic bottles across fields and along the roadsides of our homeland, which we only seem to care for in the stadiums, the day comes when torrential rain gathers it all, pushing it towards the sea. But when the rain is as intense as it has been recently, it can’t reach the sea as usual because the channel’s outlet gets completely clogged, causing widespread flooding,” said Rama, while sharing footage from Shkozet.
