TIRANA, Dec 30 /ATA/ – Bank lending to Albania’s economy continued to grow in 2025, reflecting strong demand for loans and the banking sector’s solid financial position.
According to data published by the Bank of Albania, new loans issued by banks totaled 374.4 billion leks in the January-November period, up 12.8% from the same period a year earlier.
The increase in lending was supported by the economy’s positive performance, higher demand for financing and the sound financial health of the banking sector, the central bank data showed.
Individuals accounted for the largest share of credit expansion in 2025. New lending to households reached 114.7 billion leks, marking a 21.7% increase year-on-year.
Growth was recorded both in housing loans and consumer credit, reflecting rising confidence and greater financing needs among households.
