Lura National Park turns white as snowfall makes it a winter destination

TIRANA, Dec 3 /ATA/ – Snow has blanketed Lura National Park, creating striking winter scenery turning the northeastern Dibra region into a coveted winter destination.

Recent snowfall has covered the park’s glacial lakes and dense forests, turning the area into one of Albania’s most picturesque winter landscapes.

Prime Minister Edi Rama took to the social media on Wednesday to post a photo of Lura village, describing the view as “fairytale-like.”

Winter renders Lura a distinct look, drawing visitors looking to experience its snow-covered terrain. The region combines natural beauty, tradition and culture, with dramatic mountain views descending toward seven lakes set in a valley between peaks.

Lura National Park spans 12.8 square kilometres in northeastern Albania and includes the eastern section of the Lura Crown mountain range. Its 14 glacial lakes, located at elevations between 1,350 and 1,720 metres, cover a total of 1,280 hectares and form a scenic alpine environment.

The park has been expanded to include the Zall-Gjoçaj lake area, forming the Lura-Deja Mountain National Park with a total area of 20,242 hectares.
