TIRANA, Dec 2 /ATA/ – Albania’s economic sentiment indicator fell by 2.6 points in November but remained about six points above its long-term average, the Bank of Albania said on Tuesday.
The decline was driven by weaker business confidence, while consumer confidence improved, the central bank said.
The industry sentiment indicator was unchanged from October, staying around 1.3 points above its historical average.
Confidence in the construction sector fell by 3.1 percentage points, with both assessments of current construction activity and order levels declining. Price expectations continued to ease.
Sentiment in services dropped by 5.7 points in November, though the indicator remains about nine points above its long-term average. The central bank said the fall reflected less positive assessments of demand and current business performance.
The trade confidence indicator declined by 2.3 points, mainly due to lower expectations for future employment. Price expectations in the sector increased.
Consumer confidence rose by 0.8 points in November, supported by more optimistic expectations about households’ future financial situation and the economic outlook. Assessments of current and expected major purchases remained unchanged from the previous month.
