Rama: Pension and wage rise go parallel with one another

TIRANA, November 16/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that increasing pensions will be one of the main priorities of the fourth mandate of the government, while the financial commitments for this reform have already been included in the draft medium-term budget.

In the sixth episode of the “Flasim” (Let’s Talk) podcast, Rama emphasized that the government has set clear and ambitious objectives for increasing pensions, which were announced in advance during the electoral campaign.

“In other words, we aim to bring the average full pension in urban areas to 400 euros and the average pension in rural areas to 180 euros”, said Rama.

The prime minister underlined that this process runs parallel to the increase in salaries in the administration and other sectors, a significant increase that will come into effect beginning from January next year.

He recalled that the minimum wage, both in the public and private sectors, will be no less than 500 euros, guaranteeing that no one in the Republic of Albania will be paid below this level.

Rama stressed that the increase in pensions and salaries aims to improve the living standard and strengthen social support for citizens in the coming years.
