TIRANA, Nov 15 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama announced Saturday that work is underway to establish a National Institute for Tumors, describing it as a center of excellence in the fight against cancer.
Speaking during a public hearing with residents of Tirana’s Unit No. 3, Rama said strategic partnerships with Italy, including the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, will support knowledge exchange, medical training, and administrative collaboration.
Rama added that under the government’s plan, the Tirana University Hospital (QSUT) will become a regional reference point for oncology across the Balkans by the end of the current term in office.
