TIRANA, Nov 7 /ATA/ The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stated today that the opposition does not endorse the law “On Legal Equality” and will undertake all appropriate actions to annul it, including the potential reconsideration of the referendum.
“The Democratic Party will initiate all constitutional actions, reconsider the referendum, and take all measures to annul this law, which effectively disrupts the legal order of the Albanian state by violating at least four articles of the Constitution,” he stated during a press conference at the Democratic Party headquarters.
According to him, the law invalidates the Family Code and the Civil Code, which form the legal foundation of the state.
“This initiative will be undertaken in close collaboration with every Albanian who regards the family as both sacred and earthly; with every believer who considers the holy scriptures of their faith as the moral framework for their family; and with every parent who, in accordance with the Constitution, wishes their child to receive a religious education consistent with the family’s faith and aligned with the child’s birth-assigned gender,” Berisha stated.
The Democratic Party leader, Sali Berisha, called for a strong citizen response, asserting that the narco-state lacks legitimacy, and emphasized that their struggle is for the benefit of their children, themselves, and their allies.
“We are pursuing this struggle not only for our children and ourselves, but also for our friends and partners,” Berisha added.
