TIRANA, November 7/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama provided details of the 2026 draft budget projections for pension increase, while appreciating that this will be the governance mandate of annual pension increases.
During his “Flasim” (Let’s Talk) podcast, Rama stated that, “In addition to receiving the full Christmas bonus in December, beginning from January the pensioners will have a monthly increase of their pension”.
The prime minister ensured that the pensions will increase in line with the ambitious objectives set and announced during the electoral campaign.
Specifically, Rama said that the full urban pension for somebody who has the complete qualifying work years will go up to 40 thousand new lekë from 27,350 which is at present-day.
“The partial urban pension will increase into an average of 22 thousand new lekë from 15,850 lekë today; the rural pension will increase into 18 thousand new lekë from 11,500 lekë today; the family pension will increase into 18 thousand new lekë from 11,400 lekë today; the disability pension will increase into 30 thousand new lekë from 20 thousand lekë today,” said Rama. Starting from January 2026, Rama said that pensions will increase every month besides the annual indexation, which will be adjusted normally year after year”, said Rama.
In the following years, the prime minister emphasized that the financial projection will be in figures doubled for each category in 2027, tripled in 2028, quadrupled in 2029 and then quintupled in 2030.
“This means a value realized in respect of the 83 governance mandates that have been given to us precisely by believing that we say what we do and do what we say”, added Rama. /j.p/p.s./
