TIRANA, Oct 31 /ATA/ – Albanian President Bajram Begaj on Friday announced the opening of the application process to fill a vacant seat on the country’s Constitutional Court.
The President’s press office said the decision follows notification from the head of the Constitutional Court that Judge Sonila Bejtja’s term has ended.
As the appointing authority, President Begaj approved the launch of the application procedure for the appointment of a new Constitutional Court judge.
The President invited all interested candidates who meet the constitutional criteria to participate in the public, open competition and submit the required documents to the Office of the President of the Republic.
Applications must be submitted by November 30, 2025.
After the documentation is reviewed, the list of applicants will be published on the official website of the Presidency and through public information channels. The respective application files will then be forwarded to the Justice Appointments Council (KED) for evaluation in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
