Restored Albanian films, now on public broadcaster screen

TIRANA, Oct 27 /ATA/ On the International Day of Audiovisual Heritage, the Central State Film Archive (AQSHF) and Albanian Public Broadcaster (RTSH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding — an important milestone in preserving and promoting Albania’s film and media heritage.

The MoU, signed by RTSH General Director Eni Vasili and Central State Film Archive (AQSHF) Director Eljan Tanini, includes, among other provisions, the sharing of restored films from AQSHF to enrich the Albanian Public Broadcaster (TVSH) archive and collaboration on the digitalization of both institutions’ collections.

It further envisions expanding AQSHF’s archive with audiovisual materials depicting significant historical and cultural events filmed over the years by RTSH.

The Central State Film Archive emphasized that this collaboration marks an important milestone in their shared mission to preserve, digitize, and transmit Albania’s audiovisual heritage to present and future generations.

This agreement reinforces the commitment to protecting Albania’s cultural heritage, as documented in film and television, by preserving it in the most secure digital format.
