TIRANA, October 24/ATA/ Yesterday evening at the Gallery of Contemporary Art of Tirana (GOCAT), there was given the 20-minute performance “The Unknown”.
The artists performed under hip-hop music with rhythm, power and improvisation, transmitting a contemporary form of the art. The show was realized in the framework of the International Dance Festival of Tirana (IDFT) and was specially conceived for the GOCAT Gallery. The performance brought together choreographer Sandrine Lescourant and musician Abraham Diallo, in a creation where dance, spoken word and live music conveyed a direct relationship with the visual arts.
In this presentation, Lescourant and Diallo were accompanied by one of the Albanian participants of their ten-day workshop and public performance “Blossom”, thus connecting their work to the city and giving it a tangible local presence.
The International Dance Festival of Tirana is in its final days. It started on October 9th and will have its final performance tomorrow (October 25th). Its artistic director Angelin Preljocaj said that through the prism of dance, IDFT aims to highlight diversity and innovation by offering a unique and eclectic program. /j.p/p.s./
