PM Rama: Integrating artificial intelligence in education is essential

TIRANA, Oct 10 /ATA/  – Prime Minister Edi Rama on Friday underlined the need to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into Albania’s education system, calling science and technology key priorities.

Speaking at the presentation of Albania’s results in the OECD’s Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS), Rama said schools must help students navigate the negative influence of social media and stay engaged in real-world activities.

He announced plans to expand extracurricular programmes, including arts and crafts, and introduce additional incentives for teachers involved in them.

Rama also stressed the importance of raising awareness about the EU’s green transition and climate challenges, while highlighting ongoing reforms such as the “Teachers for Albania” digital hiring platform, merit-based evaluation, and investments to improve school infrastructure and working conditions.
