TIRANA, September 29/ATA/ During his speech at today’s plenary session, the Chairperson of the Parliamentary group of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla expressed support for the protest in defense of the KLA and their former commanders who are being tried in The Hague. The protest is set to be held in Tirana on October 17.
Balla emphasized that, “The SP is the only party that has not wavered in its stance on the war of our brothers”.
“Now, we support the call of the veterans and we call on the citizens to participate. On the initiative of the SP, there have been approved eight declarations and resolutions to support the liberation war of Kosovo. We have done our duty. But, the opposition has held a negative attitude towards the KLA and the commanders who are unjustly detained in The Hague because there is no evidence against them with those many witnesses that are being served”, said Balla.
Balla criticized the opposition and said that its leader Sali Berisha has not spoken well of the KLA liberation war and the commanders who are unjustly held in The Hague. “I hope that Tritan Shehu takes what he said seriously because for the first time in so many years a representative of the DP speaks about the KLA commanders in The Hague. I am sure that Sali Berisha has neither spoken nor will he ever speak about the KLA commanders because at that time, Tritan was the director of ‘Shqiponja’ unit while Berisha supplied Milosevic with oil”, Balla continued his speech in the Assembly. /m.m/r.e/a.f/p.s./
