Photo exhibition on environment opens at COD

TIRANA, September 25 /ATA/ The Embassy of France to Albania, in collaboration with the French Development Agency (AFD) and Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD) have presented a photographic exhibition that illustrates France’s support for projects that focus on the environment and climate change, as part of Albania’s commitments to align with European Union standards.

Attending the official ceremony organized today at COD was Ambassador of France to Albania Catherine Suard, Minister of Environment Sofjan Jaupaj and the Director of the AFD office for the Western Balkans Arnaud Dauphin.

They emphasized the significance of cooperation in the field of environment and renewable energy.

Minister Jaupaj appreciated that Albania has taken important steps towards sustainable development.

“On the 10th anniversary of the Paris Climate Agreement, we stopped to reflect on the path we have taken and continuity. Albania has taken important steps towards sustainable development, from the law ‘On climate change’ to the drafting of climate change adaptation plans at the local level”, he emphasized.

The minister praised the photo exhibition as, “A symbol to show reality and to inspire us to continue our commitments, although Albania does not pollute at a global level, but suffers the same consequences that come from climate change”.

Jaupaj also praised the support of the French Development Agency as a reliable partner in this journey.

The exhibition has art and the vision for a sustainable future at the focus. The curator is Soela Zani. In this exhibition, art and nature are intertwined with the commitment to the climate, clean energy and the environment.

The exhibition conveys the beauties of Karavasta, Karaburun, Kune-Vaini and Durrës, areas where important cooperation projects between France and Albania are currently being implemented.

This partnership, through renewable energy, management of protected areas and improvement of water supply, is more than an investment: it is a commitment to a greener, stronger and more sustainable Albania.

The exhibition will remain open until September 27. /m.m/r.e/a.f/p.s./
