Begaj: New York’s unique bilingual school, a bridge between generations

TIRANA, September 25/ATA/ During his stay in the United States of America, President of the Republic Bajram Begaj paid a visit today to the American school in New York City, P.S.108 Philip J. Abinanti, which is applying for the first time the Albanian-English bilingual academic program.

Praising this unique model for the Albanian language not only in the USA, but also in the world, Begaj emphasized that it represents a valuable investment for the entire Albanian-American community.

Regarding the curriculum of this bilingual program, which includes all subjects of the curriculum, Begaj stated that in this way Albanian is now promoted to the level of an academic language, since Albanian children are being educated in their mother tongue.

“More than just an innovation, the program serves as a bridge between generations, cultures and nations,” said Begaj in the presence of students, teachers and parents, local government representatives and the senator of this region, while expressing gratitude to the initiators of this school and all Albanian-Americans who keep their identity alive. /m.q/r.e/a.f/p.s./
