TIRANA, Sept 22 /ATA/ Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, described the “Startup Albania” platform as a bridge linking ideas to opportunities, talent to support, and Albania to digital Europe.
At the platform’s launch ceremony held at the Innovation Hub near the Pyramid, attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister Ibrahimaj highlighted that this is a concrete step toward European integration, positioning Albania as part of the EU’s competitive digital economy.
“It is an important step in supporting the startup ecosystem, offering opportunities for grants, training, and an automated, transparent service that leverages artificial intelligence to provide fast and efficient support for startups,” she stated.
Minister Ibrahimaj explained that over the past two years, numerous efforts have been made to establish an agency that will serve as a catalyst for the development of startups in Albania.
The minister stated that the platform transforms the Startup Agency into a modern institution operating with AI-driven automated, transparent, and real-time traceable processes that effectively serve the startup ecosystem.
One of the platform’s key features is the creation of a marketplace that connects the government, startups, and corporations.
“The goal for the next four years is to enhance collaboration among the ecosystem’s various actors and create opportunities for developing products that serve both the Albanian economy and international markets. Innovation and technological development are integral to the country’s economic growth, and the government will continue to support initiatives that contribute in this direction,” she stated.
Ibrahimaj further revealed that the inaugural report on the startup ecosystem is set to be released shortly.
She highlighted the growing number of startups in the country, underscoring Albania’s leading role in the region regarding women’s participation in this sector.
