TIRANA, Sept 9 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama on Tuesday warned builders who alter approved projects that they will be placed on a blacklist and will no longer receive construction permits.
While presenting the new legal package for territorial protection, Rama affirmed that the government is committed to taking all necessary actions to curb illegal activities, including those occurring under the guise of lawful construction.
“There has been significant improvement, but improvement alone is not enough for us. We will implement all these changes by holding directly accountable everyone involved in the construction chain—from the architect to the supervisor and the relevant inspectors,” Rama added.
The Prime Minister underscored that any distortion of approved architectural projects will no longer be tolerated.
Builders who alter approved construction plans illegally will be banned and put on a blacklist, preventing them from obtaining permits or carrying out construction for several years, as emphasized by Rama.
Rama criticized builders who deceive citizens, noting that buyers often pay but cannot access their homes, with cases of apartments being sold twice. He warned that severe penalties will be imposed on those who engage in such practices.
