TIRANA, September 1 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama participated today in the 20th edition of the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia, one of the main diplomatic events in Europe.
In his speech at the leaders’ panel “Bled Promise: Dream or Reality?” the prime minister focused on the country’s process towards membership in the European Union.
Rama highlighted Albania’s objective to end the EU accession negotiations by 2027.
“We are not saying that we are ready for 2027, but we have clear objectives put on the table by the Commission that challenge us to achieve all the milestones and criteria to end the negotiations by 2027,” said Rama.
The head of government said that our country should use the EU accession process as a state-building process.
“There is no room for haste. The most important part for us, at least for Albania, is to use the accession process as a state-building process. Europe is a blessing for countries like ours because it is the only area where you can learn how to build institutions”, said Rama.
Rama emphasized that, “We are moving forward and we are absolutely Euro-optimists,” Rama said. /m.q//a.f/p.s./
