TIRANA, Aug 19 /ATA/ Gazment Bardhi, chairman of the Democratic Party’s parliamentary group, declared today that “judges and prosecutors in the Republic are not the ones who approve rules, but are bound to enforce those set by the government and Parliament.”
Bardhi hit back at Prime Minister Edi Rama’s comments on Judge Hazbi Balliu’s ruling, which restored a seized building to the non-compliant constructor.
“Today, Edi Rama asked, ‘how can prosecutors or judges of the Republic act in favor of non-compliant developers—this would require access to the minds of prosecutor Gjeli and judge Balliu.’ He should be reminded that he himself has no access to his own mind, as long as he forgets that he personally signed government decision no. 589, dated September 7, 2022, which benefits non-compliant developers and legitimises actions against the state,” Bardhi said.
