TIRANA, August 15/ATA/ The Ministry of Defense said today that there has been a significant improvement in the fire situation in the country.
During the last 24-hours, there have been reported 28 fires, of which 3 fires are active and 6 are under monitoring.
According to the Ministry of Defense, there is an an intensive work underway in several areas in an effort to put out the fires.
In Tërnova (Bulqizë Municipality), the fire continues to burn in the dense forests towards the Old Bulqiza.
In Xeth (Fushë-Arrëz Municipality), work continues to isolate the fire. The intensity of the flames has decreased, but the work to extinguish it continues.
In Velë (Mirditë Municipality), a fire has broken out in a pine forest, with the flames spreading over an area of about 6.5 ha.
In the firefighting operations, there are deployed 52 firefighting vehicles and 740 operational forces. They are assisted by the Armed Forces with 323 military forces, 7 firefighting vehicles and 1 helicopter of the Armed Forces. 4 helicopters (UAE, Czech, Slovak) and 1 Canadair aircraft from Italy are also participating. /gj.m/j.p/p.s./
