TIRANA, Aug 11 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama asserted on Monday that “arson should be equated with homicide in the Criminal Code.”
Rama shared images on social media showing a deliberate arson incident detected today by Air Force drones.
Rama emphasized that deliberately setting a fire is not just a crime but a betrayal of our land and the future of our children.
The Prime Minister also confirmed that the State Police are actively working on the ground to hold accountable anyone who threatens our common property.
“Meanwhile, during this difficult time of global warming and flames challenging all Mediterranean countries in particular, we must equate arson with murder in the Criminal Code,” Rama added.
Over the last 24 hours, 38 fire incidents have been reported nationwide, with 14 still active and under constant supervision by the relevant agencies.
