Deputy PM Balluku: Businesses along national roads given 7 days to voluntarily relocate

TIRANA, July 24 /ATA/ – Businesses operating along national roads across Albania have been given a seven-day deadline to voluntarily move their activities within their own premises, complying with legal construction regulations near roads, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku said during an inspection visit to the Kombinat–Ndroq–Plepa axis on Thursday.

“Commercial entities that violate road safety must fully comply with legal criteria mandating a 3-meter clearance from the road’s drainage channel. Voluntary clearance must be completed by the end of July. After this deadline, enforcement actions will begin, and fines will be imposed. Zero tolerance for businesses established unlawfully near roads, posing risks to users,” Balluku stated.

She noted that residential constructions are exempt from this requirement.

Balluku added that the territory is being continuously monitored through satellite imagery and drones that provide real-time information, ensuring swift and comprehensive control over violations.
