TIRANA, July 22 /ATA/ – Velipoja Beach, stretching over 14 kilometers, is growing as one of Albania’s most popular destinations for both domestic and international tourists this summer season.
Prime Minister Edi Rama took to the social media to share stunning images of the beach crowded with visitors, describing its landscape as “magical.”
The increase in public beaches and improved coastal management have contributed to a rise in the number of holidaymakers in Velipoja this year.
The images feature public beach spaces, recreational sports areas, and signage indicating designated spots for visitors. The scenic view captures the blue hues of the Adriatic Sea blending with the sky, clean healing sand, and people sunbathing or engaging in beachside activities.
The coastal town of Velipoja, known for its wide sandy shore and unspoiled nature, is increasingly becoming a favored destination for tourists. The government says the trend reflects broader efforts to enhance public beach access across Albania’s coastline.
More public beaches are now available to tourists compared to previous years. This summer, coastal municipalities have expanded free access areas and provided complimentary umbrellas for locals and international tourists alike. Informational signs have also been installed to help visitors navigate public beach zones.
