TIRANA, July 22/ATA/ Leader of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha focused today again on the facts that, according to him, show that May 11 elections were an electoral farce.
In a press conference from the party headquarters, Berisha said that they are documenting the electoral farce and then leave the floor to the opposition people and the Democrats.
Berisha highlighted the report that was approved at the Council of Europe by the delegation that observed the elections. The report recommends that in Albania the party should be separated from the state.
“For anyone who has the minimum of electoral knowledge, this recommendation means that the elections were held under the conditions of the party-state and that under the conditions of the party-state there are no elections, but there is a farce,” Berisha stated.
Appreciating May 11 as an unprecedented farce in 32 years, Berisha added that it is being documented every day for Albanians and international institutions.
Further on, Berisha stated that this political force will conduct a full analysis regarding the election defeat.
Berisha said that this analysis aims for the Democratic Party to modernize and open up more and more.
As for the party’s statute, according to him, it is OK and there is no need for any changes at the moment.
“Of course, after we finalize the denunciation in Albania and the world of the electoral farce, the Democratic Party will conduct a full analysis of all the problems in order to modernize and open up more and more,” Berisha concluded. /p.s./
