TIRANA, July 18/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting in Berat today with representatives of technology, innovation and start-ups, to discuss on the progress made in this sector and the challenges ahead for Albania 2030 in the European Union.
The prime minister focused on the measures taken against cyber-attacks and he expressed concern that the private sector is not moving at the same pace as the public sector in this regard.
“We should not neglect in any way the issue of sovereignty that is back on the discussion table in all countries where the tendency to make them independent from global services is increasingly strong in order to protect against gaps where actors with bad intentions towards the country can penetrate through cyber-attacks”, said Rama.
Therefore, Rama emphasized that there has been made considerable progress and we have our own iCloud in our digital services.
“But, I am aware also of the gaps we have, especially in the private sector where there is a great lack of information and awareness of what damages can come from exposure to cyber-attacks”, he added.
Rama drew attention by adding that, “While protection in the public sector is being strengthened day by day, we are concerned that the private sector is not moving at the same pace.”
“Here again, we can build awareness mechanisms and at the same time we can have an offer for the private sector, taking into account the talents that you have managed to gather and the quality of your products,” said Rama, addressing those present at this meeting. /j.p/p.s./
