TIRANA, July 15/ATA/ Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha stated today that the ruling majority bought the May 11 general elections with schemes in agriculture.
In a press conference, Berisha emphasized that, a fund of 250 million euros was used as a sovereign guarantee for soft loans.
“The electoral farce of May 11, 2025 is the ugliest farce since the time of the monist elections under the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha. To win a fourth mandate, PM Edi Rama used all kinds of unprecedented electoral crimes”, said Berisha.
Of course, the DP leader added, “The soft loans were not designed for the real farmer, but for the left-wing farmers, for farmers connected to the government.”
Berisha stressed that the votes were bought through the sovereign guarantee for loans to SMEs in agriculture and through the national program for subsidies in agriculture.
“The scheme was announced on February 10, 2025,” Berisha said.
“The Electoral Code, article 91/4 and decision number 9, year 2020 of the CEC prohibits any type of transaction and influence in the electoral process,” he stressed.
“On February 10, 2025, Edi Rama announced that the sovereign guarantee will cover 70 percent of the loan principal. In fact, it is a massive vote purchase,” Berisha stressed.
