Customs Administration, Rama: 12 million euros collected, over 3100 declarations handled per day

TIRANA, June 26/ATA/ Albanian Customs operates 24 hours a day, with a staff of 1,200 employees distributed in 18 branches and 16 customs offices, covering the entire customs territory of the country.

This administrative structure guarantees national security, combats illegal trade and supports honest businesses.

Prime Minister Edi Rama appreciated today that in the span of just one day, the Customs collects between 9 and 12 million euros in revenue for the state budget, demonstrating high efficiency in managing fiscal obligations and border control.

In 24 hours, the customs administration handles over 3,100 customs declarations, supervises and controls 28,310 vehicles and 107,000 passengers, directly contributing to the flow of international circulation of goods and people. It also issues 64 electronic authorizations for businesses, performs 718 scans and carries out 20 controls on excise goods.

Part of this network are also laboratory analyses with ISO standards, where about 50 samples are analyzed per day, as well as the activities of intelligent structures that carry out 13 full controls and 450 partial controls on goods and customs entities.

The Customs has managed to seize an average of 230 counterfeit products per day and wins 80% of legal cases with an annual financial impact of about 24 million euros on the state budget.

According to the prime minister, the modern investigation structure, scientific laboratories and legal capacities make Customs one of the key pillars of Albania’s economic security and European integration.
