TIRANA, June 10 /ATA/ – Under its Chairmanship-in-Office of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) for the period 2024-2025, Albania hosted the 12th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of this regional forum on Tuesday.
In his opening remarks, Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, emphasized the importance of parliamentary dialogue in building a more cooperative and stable Southeast Europe.
Foreign Minister highlighted essential role of national parliaments in building a more stable and cooperative region.
“Through legislative action, oversight and public engagement, you help ensure that the European perspective does not remain just a diplomatic aspiration, but becomes a concrete choice embraced by our societies,” Hasani said.
Foreign Minister also noted that Albania has chaired key regional forums and initiatives this year, including the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), Adriatic Charter, the Central European Initiative (CEI), Migration, Asylum, Refugees Regional Initiative, and SEECP.
Hasani highlighted role of SEECP as a key regional mechanism, saying Albania sees SEECP as a platform to foster good neighborly relations, stronger regional cooperation and commitment to peace, welfare and European integration.
The SEECP is a regional forum for cooperation and dialogue, focusing on issues like European integration and good-neighborly relations.
Albania will also host next SEECP Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will take place on 16 June 2025.
