TIRANA, June 8 /ATA/ Singer of Albanian origin and successful career in Italy Ermal Meta gave an extraordinary performance at the ancient stage of Butrint Theater.
The concert, which was held within the framework of the Italian Cultural Week, marked the start of his “LIVE 2025” tour.
Present at this special evening were important representatives from Albania and Italy.
“We are happy to be in Butrint for Ermal Meta’s concert, organized by the Italian Institute of Culture and Albania’s Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation. It is important to be here because Butrint is an Albanian jewel, discovered by the Italian Ugolini 100 years ago. And then the story of Ermal Meta, an Albanian jewel and discovered thanks to the contribution of Italy. In this sense, we are here to talk about the future with a singer who tells the story of a friendship between our peoples”, said the Italian ambassador.
According to the Deputy Minister of Culture, the aim of these activities is to promote the country for its cultural assets and to enrich the cultural calendar in other cities of Albania.
Accompanied on stage by pianist Davide Antonio Pio, Ermal Meta performed some of his most beloved songs, as well as new creations from his upcoming album.
“For me, it was the first time I was in Butrint and this is a magical theater. We tried to give a concert that would be in tune with this environment. I was very excited because it is the first concert of the tour in the homeland”, said Meta.
This concert, beyond the artistic dimension, is also a reminder of the cultural ties between Albania and Italy, a symbol of the combination of roots, identity and art that unites the two peoples through shared sounds and emotions. /m.m/a.f/p.s./
